The Mining and Geological Survey of Hungary (MBFSZ) is a central governmental body supervised by the Ministry of National Development. MBFSZ is responsible to advance geoscientific knowledge of Hungary’s landmass by systematic acquisition, interpretation, management and dissemination of geoscientific data. Its core skills include geoscientific data management and integrated 3D geological-geophysical modelling, as well as national potential assessments for various mineral resources and preparation of concessions, especially geo-energy (hydrocarbon, geothermal, coal), study of geohazards, environmental geology and hydrogeology.
