The Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute of Polish Academy of Sciences is involved in studies and applied research on resources and energy at all stages of their prospecting, exploration, exploitation, uses and management. The Institute has been leading many RD&I geothermal projects in Poland from geothermal feasibility studies to the monitoring of geothermal plants and reservoirs.
These activities comprise an interdisciplinary approach involving technical, technological, economic, environmental, policy and social aspects. Among the topics are also legal, regulatory and economic aspects of geothermal and other renewable energy sources exploration, exploitation and management – key issues for wider development of low-emission energy sources in Poland.
